Environmental conditions of yacht operation often determine comfort and safety onboard. Therefore the prediction of yacht response to wind and waves in terms of motions, accelerations and deck wetness allows for determination and optimisation of operational envelope. Combination of numerical and experimental approach allows for determination of rough-sea performance for full range of wave heights and directions at arbitrary sea region. Direct results of analyses can be compared with safety and comfort criteria. The effectiveness of passive and active anti-rolling devices may be also investigated.
